ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – One man is dead and another man is arrested for his murder on New Years Eve.
Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to 180 Apex Lane in Cleveland, N.C. at approximately 4 am on Saturday morning to a reported stabbing assault.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the body of 36-year-old Altereck Rashad Shields in the backyard of the residence.
During the investigation, officers say they discovered that Shields was involved in a physical fight at the residence just prior to his death.
37-year-old Jermail Blake was arrested for the murder of Shields and placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond. Blake will be facing Felony Voluntary Manslaughter charges.
