CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the next six weeks, Coach Tim Craft of Gardner Webb, Coach Jim Fox of Appalachian State, Coach Pat Kelsey of Winthrop, Coach Bob McKillop of Davidson and Coach Mark Price of Charlotte will be among the eleven head basketball coaches, state wide, participating as a guest sandwich artist at a local Subway restaurant near their university for Coaches vs. Cancer.
The coaches will be joined by local cancer survivors, and guests will be able to make donations to the local Coaches vs. Cancer program at checkout.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a partnership between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Locally, the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association has joined the effort to promote healthy living while raising awareness and supporting the fight against cancer. More than 50,000 North Carolina residents are told they have cancer each year and the number of South Carolina residents diagnosed with cancer each year is nearly 30,000.
