Man Arrested After Officials Say He Robbed Two Lancaster Businesses At Gun Point

LANCASTER, SC — Deputies say they have arrested the man responsible for two armed robberies on Thursday, January 5th.

According to detectives, 26-year-old James White was arrested Wedensday for robbing the Stop & Shop and Pantry Pak between 8:30 and 9pm.

The owner of the Stop & Shop reported that a man came in wearing a dust mask, carrying a gun wrapped in a cloth, and demanding money. The owner, according to deputies, dropped some bills at the suspect’s feet and then swung at him with a metal pipe when he bent down to get them. The suspect escaped before deputies could arrive, but a search of the area led them to another nearby store, the Pantry Pak, where the owner also reported having just been robbed by a suspect matching the same description.

Information gathered by detectives led them to White’s apartment on Wylie Circle where a search revealed items believed to be connected to the robberies, according to reports.

White was arrested and charged with two counts each of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Investigators say they are still working to determine if White may have been connected to other recent robberies as well.
