LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A Lincolnton man has been charged with sexual assault for having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
According to detectives, 24-year-old, Alomar Teracious Edwards had sex with the 15-year-old victim between January 1, 2016, and January 12, 2017.
Authorities initially responded to a call regarding a missing juvenile on December 28th, 2016.
During the investigation it was determined that the victim was known to Mr. Edwards, who admitted to having sex with the juvenile. He was charged with two counts of Statutory Rape or Sex Offense of a victim 13, 14 or 15-years-old by a defendant at least 6 years older.
Mr. Edwards is being held without bond and is due to appear in Lincoln County District Court on January 17, 2017, to face charges.
