CMS To Hold Community Sessions On Student Assignment Phase 2

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMS announced Friday that they will be holding nine community-engagement sessions over the next few weeks as it launches Phase II of it’s Student Assignment review.

Officials say the sessions will offer families, students, staff, and community members a chance to voice their opinions on how best to evaluate current boundaries and feeder patterns. No specific map or boundary changes will be discussed during these sessions however, according to a statement.

“Student assignment is one part of the district’s larger strategy to maximize teaching and learning in every school,” said Superintendent Ann Clark. “As in Phase I, we are committed to hearing ideas and perspectives from across Mecklenburg County to help us make the best decisions for all of the families we serve.”
