UPDATE: Police have identified the man killed after reportedly breaking into a southwest Charlotte home as 32-year-old Phuc Hong Doan.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating after a homeowner in southwest Charlotte shot and killed an armed man who broke-in Friday afternoon.
According to reports, a man broke into a home on Musket Lane around 1:30pm. When he was confronted by the home’s owner, police say the suspect grabbed a knife, at which point the homeowner got a gun and shot the armed suspect.
The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Medic.
Detectives are investigating the incident.
