CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say speed and alcohol were factors in a fatal northwest Charlotte wreck Friday night.
Reports indicate Michael Robert Kneepens, 58, was the only occupant of a vehicle which ran off Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road around 11:00 p.m.
Kneepen’s vehicle drove several feet in the grass before crashing into two large trees. Police say Kneepens was not wearing a seatbelt, and died at the scene.
Police are still investigating the wreck and ask any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
