Police Search For Suspects After Vandalism In Downtown Boone

BOONE, N.C. – Boone Police need the public’s help in trying to find several suspects accused of vandalizing several buildings and a police car in downtown Boone.

Officials say that on Saturday at approximately 4:00 am, suspects damaged buildings, signs, and a police car along King Street.

Police say the words “Black Lives Matter” was spray-painted on several locations along with anti-police and anti-Trump slogans.

At first, police say the suspects were caught on surveillance purchasing paint at Wal-Mart before the vandalism spree. Police released several pictures to the media saying the people in the surveillance pictures were suspects.

Police now say the suspects in the pictures voluntarily met with investigators and are no longer suspects at this time.

Police say that the damages are estimated to be $5,000.
