Hickory Man Pleads Guilty To Trafficking Methamphetamine

HICKORY, NC — A 29-year-old man will spend the next five to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine.

Jason Mock, 29, pleaded guilty in Catawba County Superior Court Wednesday, according to a release. Mock was given an active sentence of five to seven years for the crime, plus a $50,000 fine. He was also given a suspended sentence of 13 to 25 months for possession of a firearm by a felon.

Officials say Mock was charged after deputies found a 9-millimeter handgun under a couch, and bags of meth on a table and in his pants pockets during a search of his home back in May 2016.

According to officials, Mock was previously convicted of  Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping a Controlled Substance in 2012.
