List Of Charges Grow For Man Accused Of Robbing More Than A Dozen Charlotte-Area Businesses

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged an accused robbery suspect for more than a dozen robberies that happened in the Charlotte area.

Police arrested James Bunch, 28, on January 24th.  He was originally charged with 6 counts of armed robbery.  Those robberies reportedly happened at the following locations:

  • July 8, 2016 armed robbery of Jimmy John’s, located at 9130 Harris Corner Parkway
  • October 9, 2016 armed robbery of Burger King, located at 7026 Albemarle Road
  • October 30, 2016 armed robbery of McDonald’s, located at 6227 Monroe Road
  • October 30, 2016 armed robbery of Popeyes, located at 6011 Albemarle Road
  • December 9, 2016 armed robbery of Panera, located at 9321 J W Clay Boulevard
  • December 16, 2016 armed robbery of Food Lion, located at 2931 E. WT Harris Boulevard

Police then say Bunch was charged with three additional robberies:

  • December 14, 2016 armed robbery of Advance Auto, located at 2142 Rocky River Road
  • October 9, 2016 armed robbery of Bojangles, located at 6120 South Boulevard
  • October 9, 2016 armed robbery of Burger King, located at 7026 Albermarle Road

Now, police are saying he also robbed the following locations:

  • June 13, 2016, armed robbery of McDonald’s, located at 6227 Monroe Road (see report number 2016-0613-0213-00)
  • June 17 2016, armed robbery of Burger King, located at 2901 South Boulevard (see report number 2016-0617-0011-02)
  • January 20, 2017, armed robbery of Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, located at 6011 Albemarle Road (see report number 2017-0120-2158-06)
  • January 21, 2017, armed robbery of KFC/Taco Bell, located at 2834 Boyer Street (see report number 2017-0121-1019-00)
  • January 22, 2017, armed robbery of Advanced Auto Parts, located at 10025 Albemarle Road (see report number 2017-0122-1219-02)

On Monday, January 30, police charged Bunch with three counts of Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, one count of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and one count of Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle from these cases. The charges are related to robberies at the following locations:

  • January 20, 2017, attempted armed robbery from person at 6023 Albemarle Road (see report number 20170120222601)
  • December 11, 2016, attempted armed robbery from the Advanced Auto Parts, located at 3200 N. Sharon Amity Road (see report number  20161211094001)
  • December 11, 2016, attempted armed robbery of the Advanced Auto Parts, located at 10025 Albemarle Road (see report number (20161211084401)
  • December 11, 2016, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon of the O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, located at 7015 South Boulevard (see report number 20161211204005)
