GRAPHIC PHOTOS: Reward Money Climbs To $14000 As Deputies Look For Union County Dog Killer

UNION COUNTY, NC — The Union County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the person(s) responsible for killing seven dogs last week, and anyone with information that leads to an arrest could get up to $14,000 in rewards.
On Friday, officials say deputies were called to a scene along Morgan Academy Road where the bodies of seven dogs, of multiple breeds, were found shot in the head. According to reports, the dogs may have been used for hunting, and were believed to have been dead for at least 36 hours at the time they were found.

No arrests have been made in the case as of yet, officials say, and now several organizations and private donors are offering up reward money for any information that will lead to an arrest.
Officials say Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5000, a private donor has offered $1500, and a local business announced Tuesday afternoon that they will add another $2500 to the stack.
PETA also announced Tuesday that they are offering a reward of up to $5000 for information leading to the arrest and cruelty-to-animals conviction of the person(s) responsible.
“Someone in the community committed a horrific and callous mass execution of these seven dogs,” says PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA is urging anyone with information about this case to come forward immediately so that their attacker can be held accountable for this crime.”
