Suspects In Rock Hill Armed Robbery Arrested In Chester

CHESTER, SC — Two suspects are in custody following an overnight armed robbery in Rock Hill.

Rock Hill Police say that Stephan Abraham, 20, robbed the Kangaroo gas station on N. Cherry Road around 12:20am Thursday. According to reports, Abraham entered the store wearing a handkerchief over his face, presented a handgun, and forced the store clerk to empty the registers. Abraham then left the store and fled in a vehicle driven by Diamond Cox, 18.

A citizen who had witnessed the robbery began following the suspects after they left the parking lot. He then called police and alerted them to their location.

Chester County dispatchers say Abraham eventually called them to report that he was being followed. Deputies eventually caught up to Abraham and pulled the vehicle. During a search, deputies say they located a black 9mm gun, black and white handkerchief, a black bag filled with cash and coins, plus other items matching the description of those used by the Rock Hill robbery suspect.

Chester County Sheriff’s deputies charged Abraham with Unlawful Carry of a Firearm, and charged Cox with Failure to Identify.

Rock Hill Police say Abraham will be charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of Firearm During Crime of Violence, and Criminal Conspiracy when he is returned to Rock Hill PD custody. Cox will also be charged with Criminal Conspiracy upon her return.
