ENOCHVILLE, NC — Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old juvenile for multiple vehicle break-ins over the last two months.
Officials say the break-ins spanned from late December 2016 into January 2017 and included multiple items, including guns, being stolen from the vehicles. In one incident, deputies say the suspects broke into a vehicle parked inside a home’s garage while the family was inside sleeping.
Both the juvenile and Austin Jenkins, 16, of Unity Church Road, were charged for the crimes. Jenkins is being held under a $100,000 secured bond, and is charged with Felony First Degree Burglary and multiple counts of Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle.
Detectives have recovered some of the stolen items, but are continuing to investigate and search for more. Officials say more arrests are possible.
