Police Say Suspect Used BB Gun Or Air Rifle To Shoot LYNX Train

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating after someone fired shots at a LYNX train Friday afternoon.

CMPD says they were called to the light rail station on Crump Road around 4:30pm after someone shot at a LYNX train. According to reports, the train was passing near I-485 and South Boulevard around 4:10pm when a suspect(s) fired what is believed to have been a BB gun or air rifle at the train.

Officials say minor damage to the window was discovered when the train arrived at Crump Road. The BB or pellet did not puncture the window, according to police, and no one on board was injured.

Investigators with GS4 and CMPD are both investigating the incident.
