HICKORY, NC — Marvin Hill will spend at least 17 years behind bars after pleading guilty to the 2013 murder of his wife.
Officials say Hill, 40, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the November 2013 beating death of his wife, Louver Hill. Hill was sentenced by a Superior Court Judge to an active prison term of 17 to 22 years.
According to reports, deputies were called to Hill’s Miami Street home on November 10, 2013 where they found his wife, 36-year-old Louver Hill, dead in the back bedroom. Hill initially admitted to pushing his wife during an argument and causing her to fall, deputies say, but later said that she slipped, fell, hit her head, and was knocked unconscious during a physical altercation.
Investigators say they determined that the wife had been severely beaten in another area of the home and then dragged to the bedroom where she was found. Reports even said that someone had attempted to clean the scene before deputies arrived.
An autopsy revealed that Louver died from at least three distinct blows to the head area, according to reports, which were not the result of an accidental fall.
