Police Make Arrest In 2015 Murder Case

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged a man for a murder that happened in 2015.  Investigators say Gabriel Santiago killed his neighbor, 47-year-old Richard Hable.

Hable’s body was found buried under his mobile home on Bondhaven Drive in Charlotte.  A woman called police and reported Hable missing in May of 2015.

At the time, officers determined there wasn’t any foul play and believed Hable was in a treatment facility.  The same woman reported him missing again on August 20th.  Police did not find his body until September 2015.

Santiago was arrested in San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 8th.  He will be extradited to Charlotte to face murder charges.
