CHESTER, SC — Two victims were airlifted after being rescued from a house fire Friday afternoon.
Lando Fire Chief Eddie Murphy says a couple in their 60s were inside the home on Harmony Church Road when a fire broke out around 4pm. A neighbor busted out one of the windows to get inside and rescued the male victim, according to the chief.
Officials say the man was flown to the burn center in Augusta, while the woman was flown to CMC for treatment. An officials with Chester County EMS says the man had third degree burns over 30% of his body. The condition of the woman has not been released.
Fire officials are still investigating the cause, but believe the fire started in the kitchen. Officials say that the home is a total loss.
