Deputies Arrest Man For Stealing A 3 Feet Tall, 1000 Pound Chicken

UPDATE: Alexander County deputies have arrest 32-year-old Andrew Justice, of Taylorsville, in connection to the theft of a concrete chicken.

According to reports, a tractor believed to have been used in the theft was found off of Zebb Watts Road with white paint on the forks of the tractor. The paint is believed to have come from the chicken, officials say, but so far only pieces of the statue have been found.

Justice is charged Felony Larceny, Misdemeanor Injury to Real Property, and Reckless Driving to Endanger.

ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC — Over the weekend, thieves took off with a concrete chicken weighing more than 1000 lbs and standing over three feet tall.

Deputies say the statue was stolen sometime between 8pm, Saturday and 9am, Sunday from a property on All Healing Springs Road near US 64/90 west of Taylorsville. According to reports, the base of the chicken was found several mile down the road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Alexander County Crime Stoppers at 828-632-8555. Officials say there is a reward being offered for information leading to an arrest.
