Two People Shot At Local Rowan County Bar

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – One person is in critical condition and another has minor injuries after a shooting at a local bar Sunday morning.

Deputies were dispatched to Kahuna’s Bar & Grill on Statesville Boulevard at 1:15 a.m. The bar is located on Highway 70 outside of Salisbury.

Officials found a 23-year-old male inside the bar suffering from a gunshot wound to his pelvic area. The victim was treated by EMS and then transported toΒ Rowan Novant Emergency. The victim later underwent surgery at Baptist Hospital. At this time, theΒ manΒ is still in critical condition.

A second victim drove himself to the ER. Police say the victim is a 21-year-old male who received a minor wound to his right elbow, but left before he could be treated.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers found a “chaotic scene” involving a large gathering of people across the street from the bar.

Officials say the bar is a well-known spot for the Country Boyz Motorcycle Club.

The victim’s names haven’t been released. It is unknown if the two victims knew each other.
