East Mecklenburg High School Student Killed in Shooting
CHARLOTTE N.C. — Police are investigating the death of an East Mecklenburg High School student who was shot and killed while attending a party over the weekend.
Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call and found Christian Isaac Allen outside a residence on Kelford Lane with an apparent gunshot wound. Allen was transported to Carolinas Medical Center by Medic where he was pronounced deceased.
Early information indicates that a party was being held at a residence. Reports indicate that neither Allen nor the suspect live at this location. At the party, the suspect and Allen got into an argument, which escalated and resulted in the suspect shooting Allen while they were both inside the residence, according to police.
Detectives with the Homicide Unit are canvassing the neighborhood and are interviewing witnesses to this incident.
While Allen’s family has been notified of his death, the investigation is still active and ongoing. As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.
