Father Of Indian Land HS Burglary Suspect Also Arrested On Drug Charges
LANCASTER COUNTY, SC — The father of a teen arrested for burglarizing Indian Land High School over the weekend has been arrested on drug charges.
Deputies say Jeremiah Gainey, 47, of Indian Land, and Lori Orange, 42, of Wilmington were arrested Monday afternoon for Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. Officials say the arrests came after serving search warrants on Gainey’s property in relation to his son’s, Dawson Gainey, involvement with a burglary at Indian Land High School Sunday night.

When deputies arrived at the home on River Road, they say Gainey and Orange came out of a motor home that was also on the property. When deputies searched the property and motor home, which was also covered by the warrants, they found about three and a half pounds of marijuana in five separate bags, marijuana wax, and digital scales, according to reports.
βSometimes one thing leads to another, and our investigation of the burglary netted a large quantity of marijuana, including marijuana wax, said Sheriff Barry Faile. βMarijuana wax is concentrated THC extracted from marijuana buds. It is made using butane in a dangerous process, and it is very potent.β
Bond for Gainey and Orange has been set at $7,500 each.
