Warrants Issued For Two Armed Robbery, Burglary Suspects

SALISBURY, NC — Two suspects are wanted on outstanding warrants in connection to two burglaries and an armed robbery.

Officials say clothing, electronics, and jewelry were stolen after a dorm room at Catawba College’s Stanback Hall was broken into on February 14. Then on February 15, two other dorm rooms in the same Hall were also broken into. In one of those dorms, officials say the suspects encountered a victim and held him at gunpoint while demanding his and his roommate’s property. The suspects then took off.

Police say the two suspects have been identified as Justin Sterling, 21, of Monroe, and Elias Phillip, 19, of Mint Hill. Warrants have been issued charging each suspect with one count of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, two counts Felony Breaking and Entering, and one count Felony Larceny.
