STATESVILLE, NC — Deputies arrested a 19-year-old suspect after four vehicles were broken into and various items were stolen.
The break-ins occurred around 3am Thursday at a home on Wallace Springs Road. According to reports, a suspect, later identified as Steven Hass, broke into four vehicles and took multiple items from inside.
Detectives say they located Hass at his home on Highpoint Avenue Tuesday and arrested him on charges of four counts of Break or Enter a Motor Vehicle, Felony Larceny, Misdemeanor Larceny, and Obtain Property by False Pretense. Officials say some of the stolen property was recovered.
Hass has been placed under a $25,000 secured bond, and has pending charges which include Larceny of a Firearm, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor Larceny, and Underage Consumption of Alcohol. Investigators say they believe Hass may have also been involved in several other vehicle break-ins, and more charges may be coming.
