One Dead After Accident On I-485 Inner At Rea Road

UPDATE: One lane has reopened, but officials say the left inner loop lane is still closed.

Expect delays in the area throughout the evening.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Medic says one person is dead following an accident on I-485 at Rea Road.

The accident happened around 4:30pm on I-485 near mile marker 59. Medic says one person was pronounced dead.

Officials say the left lanes of both the inner and outer loops are closed while troopers investigate. The lanes are not expected to reopen until roughly 8:30pm.
