Officials Say Missing Woman’s Body Found In Lincoln County

LINCOLNTON, NC — Officials say they have recovered the body of a woman reported missing nearly two years ago.

According to reports, city maintenance crews were repairing a sewer line off Hollis Henderson Road Wednesday when they found badly decomposed remains. The body was sent to Wake Forest Baptist Memorial Center for an autopsy as local police and SBI investigated.

On Friday, officials say the body was positively identified as Patricia Loveless. Loveless was reported missing on March 13, 2015, according to police.

Police say Loveless had last been seen around 10am on March 13th, and was known to routinely walk East Maine Street and North General’s Boulevard while visiting local businesses.

Investigators say medical records, prior x-rays, and items found with the body that matched things Loveless had purchased the day she disappeared helped identify her body. According to reports, Loveless’ death does not appear to be suspicious but no cause has yet been determined.
