BOONE, NC — A NC State Trooper was arrested Friday on multiple charges including DWI and hit and run.
Officials say Matthew Grogan was driving a brown Toyota truck when he hit a vehicle around 9:20pm in the parking lot of the Cookout on Blowing Rock Road.

Grogan was soon found heading north on the Highway 105 Extension, according to reports, and police attempted to pull him over. Grogan led officers on a brief pursuit before finally stopping on Old East King Street.
Officials say Grogan was arrested for Felony Fleeing to Elude Arrest, Driving While Impaired, and Hit and Run.
Grogan was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 30th.
