Two Teen Armed Robbery, Carjacking Suspects Arrested

Tobias McNeil

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have arrested two teens they say committed several armed robberies and a carjacking before leading police on a chase overnight Monday.

According to reports, two suspects, later identified as Tobias McNeil, 17, and a 13-year-old juvenile, robbed a woman at gunpoint on Grant Martin Drive around 8:30pm on Sunday and took off in her white vehicle. Police say the suspects then committed two more armed robberies between roughly 1:10am and 1:25am Monday on West Boulevard at Remount Road and Parker Drive near Remount.

In both of those robberies, officials say the victims described black male suspects robbing them at gunpoint and then taking off in a white vehicle.

Officers say the stolen vehicle was found around 2:30am near West Boulevard and Wilmore. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, police say the suspects took off and led them on a pursuit.

The driver eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed near Tuckaseegee Road. Both McNeil and the juvenile were arrested and charged with the armed robbery and carjacking on Grant Martin Drive. Investigators say the additional charges from the Parker Drive and West Boulevard robberies are pending.
