Man Accused Of Trying To Abduct A Toddler In A Walmart Is Out On Bond

SHELBY, NC — A man accused of trying to abduct a woman’s child in a Walmart Tuesday is out on bond.

Officials say Eric Richardson was released on a $15,000 bond Thursday. Richardson is charged with misdemeanor assault on a child under 12.

The mother of a 1-year-old toddler swore out a warrant on Richardson after she said he tried to abduct her child at a Shelby Walmart on Tuesday, according to officials.

Richardson turned himself in to authorities Wednesday.
