CHARLOTTE, NC– Police have released the name of the man who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Sardis Road North.
Police say 62-year-old George Sumter Jr. was pushing a shopping cart across Sardis Road North when he was struck by a sedan.
Speed and alcohol were not contributing factors to the incident. The crash remains under investigation.
