Nearby Shooting Puts Two Salisbury Schools On Precautionary Lockdown

SALISBURY, NC — Police say Salisbury High School and Livingstone College were both placed on a precautionary lockdown for several hours Tuesday after a shooting in the area.

According to Captain Shelia Lingle with Salisbury Police Department, one person was shot sometime before 1pm and went to a coffee shop on South Fulton Street to call for help. Police say the extent of the victim’s injuries are not known at this time.

Police say the shooter has not been located. The investigation is ongoing.
