Novant Health House Call: Women in Healthcare Panel Meeting with President Trump
Two local nurses join President Trump at the Women in Healthcare Panel Meeting
CHARLOTTE, NC — President Donald Trump is making waves in the healthcare world – and held a roundtable discussion involving two nurses from Novant Health Wednesday to talk about it.
The Women in Healthcare Panel Meeting at the White House featured 8 women with a variety of healthcare backgrounds. Novant Health represented the only nurses on the panel – and therefore represented nurses from across the country.
The group met with President Trump and talked with Seema Verma, the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The discussion focused around the importance of patients having access to healthcare, making healthcare affordable and creating an environment that healthcare providers can practice healthcare as intended.
Nurse Lina Varela-Gonzalez, the Director of Nursing for Emergency Services, was one of the nurses to attend the panel. She stopped by Rising Thursday to tell us all about it.
