15-Year-Old Facing Charges After Teen Found Dead Behind Charlotte Elementary School

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD says they arrested a 15-year-old for his involvement in the death of a teen who was found dead behind an elementary school in west Charlotte.

Police say 18-year-old Tyshaud Nikese Brown was shot to death and his body was found onMarch 22nd in a field behind Allenbrook Elementary School.

Police say Brown had been reported missing just before 6:30am on that same day.  Officers responded to a home on John McGraw Lane where he was reported missing, but said they were unable to locate Brown after a search of the area.  However, police determined the body found in the field was Brown.

Police say information and evidence gathered by detectives during the course of the investigation led them to identifying the juvenile as a suspect in the case.  He was taken into custody early Friday morning.

Police have charged the juvenile with accessory after the fact to murder.  His name is not being released due to the fact that he is a juvenile.

No one has been charged with Brown’s murder at this time.
