UNION COUNTY, NC — Two suspects have been charged after deputies found two kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop earlier this week.
William Eric Lopez, 26, of Asheboro and Jonathan Vasquez, 19, of Randleman are now facing multiple drug related charges.
The stop happened on US 74 near US 601, according to officials, and Atos, the Union County Sheriff’s Office narcotics K9, alerted deputies to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle.
After a quick search, deputies say they found the cocaine hidden inside the passenger compartment along with marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
Lopez is charged with Trafficking in Cocaine.
Vasquez is charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
