Father, Son Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Into Neighbor’s Home And Assaulting Him

LINCOLNTON, NC — A father and son were arrested after deputies say they broke into a home shortly after midnight Tuesday and assaulted the owner.

According to reports, Joshua Granados, 18, and his father Esteban Martinez, 43, broke into a home on Herter Road around 12:30am while the victim was sleeping. Deputies say one of the men then assaulted the victim with a stick while the other threatened him with a knife.

The victim told deputies they picked up about $100 from his kitchen table as they left. Deputies say that the two men were neighbors of the victim and lived on the same street.

Martinez and Granados were both arrested at their home on Herter Road and were both charged with one felony count each of First Degree Burglary and Larceny after a Breaking and Entering, as well as misdemeanor Aggravated Assault.
