Missing Former CMPD Officer Found Dead

UPDATE: Former Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Michael Bell has been found dead in Mooresville.  CMPD says Bell was found shortly before 1pm along a walking route that he usually takes.

The circumstances of his death are being investigated by the Mooresville Police Department.  CMPD says initial indicators are that medical factors may have been at play.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Mooresville Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 40-year-old Michael Bell.

Bell is a former Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer.  Police say he last made contact with his family around 5pm on Wednesday, April 19th.  He is believed to be at risk due to recent health issues.

Bell was last seen wearing a polo type shirt and khaki pants.
