Residents Of The Pawtucket Neighborhood Speak Out Over Rise In Juvenile Crime

CHARLOTTE, NC — The residents of a northwest Charlotte neighborhood are voicing concern over rising juvenile crime in the area.

Residents of the Pawtucket neighborhood met with officials from CMPD and the District Attorney’s Office at Thrift Baptist Church Tuesday. They say that most of the crime in their neighborhood is being committed by juveniles who aren’t being locked up.

The residents also voiced concern over a new bill that would raise the age of being tried as an adult from 16 to 18 in North Carolina.
