Helicopter Crashes Near Catawba County Home

NEWTON, N.C. —  Catawba County authorities are investigating after a helicopter crashed near a home in Newton, North Carolina.

According To Catawba County Sheriff Coy Reid, the crash happened around 1 p.m. near McKay Farm Road and Dairy Road in Newton.

The extent of any injuries is unknown.  Check back for updates.
