Novant Health House Call Talks Autism
We stopped by Novant Health to learn about Autism.
CHARLOTTE, NC — More children will be diagnosed with Autism this year than ever before.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges.
The Centers for Disease Control says the developmental disability affects about 3 million people in the U.S. One in 68 U.S. children has an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which is a 30% increase from 1 in 88 in 2012, according to the CDC.
Autism can range from mild disabilities to serious developmental disabilities, such as intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and autism.
In today’s House Call, we stopped by Novant Health to talk to Dr. James M. Durant III about Autism.
