Mt. Mourne School Teacher Charged With Indecent Liberties With A Minor
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A 57-year-old school math teacher has been charged with taking indecent liberties with students and assault on a female.
Neil Krasnigor, a teacher at Mt. Mourne IB School, was arrested on May 3 and charged with seven counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor and one count of Assault on a Female.
Krasnigor’s attorney has issued the following statement on his behalf:
“Mr. Krasnigor adamantly denies the charges. Β He has dedicated his career to excellence in education and is stunned by these allegations. Β We look forward to a trial as soon as we can get one.”
Deputies say a report was filed by Iredell-Statesville Schools on March 27 in reference to a teacher inappropriately touching students. Officials say investigators interviewed several students and witnesses before making an arrest.
Iredell-Statesville Schools says Krasnigor has been with the district since 2005, and has taught at Mt. Mourne from 2005-2009 and then again from 2013-present. Krasnigor left Mt. Mourne to teach at Coddle Creek Elementary for several years before returning.
Officials say he was suspended with pay on March 21st.
