Charlotte Crime Is Rising According To Latest CMPD Crime Stats

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD released their latest statistics on crime for the first three months of 2017, and the numbers sh0w an alarming trend.

So far, CMPD says that violent crime has increased 14% in the first three months of the year, and homicides have gone up 90%. Robberies have increased 20%, and officials say vehicle thefts are up 10%.

CMPD says they are working to put officers in the right locations at the right times. Deputy Chief Jeff Estes says that a major concern however, is that more people are choosing to solve disputes with violence.
