Troopers Release Name Of Man Killed On I-77 Tuesday Morning
CHARLOTTEΒ — Β I-77 Northbound was shut down for several hours at Clanton Rd. due to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian that happened early Tuesday morning.
Troopers say Brent Dillard of Cornelius pulled his vehicle on the right shoulder of I-77 and exited the vehicle. Β Troopers say Dillard stepped in front of a tractor trailer that was approaching the area just before 5:30am. Β The victim died on impact. Β Traffic was diverted to Exit 6, Woodlawn Rd.
All lanes reopened just before 10:30am.
