NC Inspectors Say Mecklenburg County Health Department Getting Back On Right Track

CHARLOTTE, NC — State inspectors say the Mecklenburg County Health Department is on the right track after being plagued by some systemic problems.

County commissioners had discussed changes to fix some of those problems that included the release of personal information of patients, and not following up with roughly 185 women on pap smear tests.

The state presented its final audit Tuesday night, and final results are expected in July.

Two third-party companies are also set to review the health department this summer.
