The proposal legalizes the use of “textalyzer” devices.Β The device can report the exact time a driver’s phone was swiped or clicked, so police can determine if distracted driving played a role in a crash.Β Similar proposals are under consideration in Tennessee, New Jersey, and in Chicago.
