CHARLOTTE, NC– Authorities say they arrested a man after jumping out of an airplane at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Thursday.
The incident started when an American Airlines flight was pushing back from it’s gate and a passenger identified as Tun Lon Sein got up from his seat and tried to open the main aircraft door.
According to reports, a flight attendant immediately stood up to stop Sein along with two passengers who attempted to assist.
Sein then reportedly tried to bite the flight attendant and moved towards the galley service door, opened it and jumped from the plane onto the tarmac.
Airport staff managed to stop Sein from running onto the active taxiway.
Sein was apprehended and transported to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment and was later charged with interfering with flight crew members and attendants in the special aircraft jurisdiction in the United States.
