CMPD Arrests Two Suspects In Multiple Armed Robbery Cases
CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have arrested two suspects for their involvement in multiple armed robbery cases.
CMPD detectives worked with the SBI and the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office to arrest Dashawn Pope, 22, and Marlon Woods, 19, Thursday in Lumberton, NC.
According to reports, Pope and Woods were arrested in connection to armed robberies that happened on April 11th on Eastway Drive, May 1st on Anderson Street, and May 9th on both Monroe Road and Kingsford Drive. In each incident, police say the two suspects robbed the victims at gunpoint.
During the April 11th robbery, police say one victim was also assaulted and received minor injuries.
Officials also say the victim’s Ford F-150 was taken in the May 9th robbery on Monroe Road.
On Friday, Pope and Woods returned to Charlotte where they were charged with four counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, four counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling.
Investigators say Pope and Woods may also be connected to more than a dozen other robberies, as well as several shootings. Police say the two men were targeting members of the Hispanic community at apartment complexes.
