Shots Fired at CMPD Officers Investigating Murder

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Shots were fired at Officers investigating Charlotte’s 36th murder on Monday night.

CMPD is looking for who shot and killed one person, along with injuring another in Northwest Charlotte.

The murder is believed to have occurred at Oregon street at Rozzelles Ferry Road just before 10pm Monday night.

Once on the scene, police found 18-year-old Daveon Andrews’ body in the street. The second victim was reportedly shot in the leg and went to a nearby convenience store for help.

About an hour after that initial shooting, shots were fired at the officers still on the scene. Police are still searching for the gunman. No one was reported injured by the shooting.
