UPDATE: Police say the victim that was shot near South Mecklenburg High School Thursday morning is facing charges.
Ashton White, 17, has been charged with Possessing Marijuana Paraphernalia, according to CMPD.
White was shot in the leg Wednesday morning, which prompted a lockdown for several hours at nearby schools. He was taken to CMC for treatment.
Police say there have still been no arrests in the shooting.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — South Mecklenburg High School was placed on lockdown after one person was injured in a shooting nearby.
Police say a man was shot in the leg near Quail Corner Shopping center, near the high school. The victim was taken to Carolina’s Medical Center for treatment.
