GASTONIA, N.C. — Police are investigating a fatal shooting on New Hope Road in Gastonia.
According to reports, Demetrius Wheeling, 39, of Clover, SC, was shot at KEDplasma on North New Hope Road around 9:40am. Wheeling was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center for treatment, but later died from his wounds.
Police say Wheeling got into an argument with Adrian Curry, 28, of Gastonia, and was then shot.
Curry turned himself in Thursday afternoon after being sought by police. Curry is charged with first degree Murder.
Police have not released the name of the person taken into custody at the scene.
