PAGELAND, SC — The Pageland Police Chief is accused of breaking into and burglarizing the home of one of his employees.
An incident report filed with the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s office says Chief Craig Greenlee broke into the police officer’s
home on Monday and knocked over his belongings, including a cross and memento from his wedding, and took his duty belt and police radio.
“I think it’s very bad,” said Pageland resident Crystal Lee. “I think it’s bad that our town is having to go through this, the things they’re going through with people who we are supposed to have protect and serve us when things do go wrong, but they’re the ones that are doing it.”
Pageland Police Captain Dean Short is also listed as a subject in the report. The officer says the captain and the chief were upset with him because he was late to work.
The sheriff’s office has turned this investigation over to SLED.
