CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Nearly 500 people are without power in Myers Park after a tree fell on power lines on Selwyn Avenue early Wednesday.
Crews state that the tree fell near the intersection with Queens Road West, forcing officials to close Selwyn Avenue for cleanup.
Reports indicate that Duke Energy has been called to the scene to locate all nearby utilities. Once the power lines are declared safe, a tree removal company will be called to remove the debris.
Crews have yet to provide a time for power restoration or for the road to be reopened.
